How can I fix my fishing reel?
I’ve been struggling for the past 10-15 minutes trying to fix my fishing pole. It’s not broken. The spool is creating the problem for me because the line won’t stay on the things that is supposed to make it possible for me to cast out/bring the line back in. The two times I did get the line to stay on, the handle was hard to turn, and when I finally got it to turn the line wasn’t releasing or returning smoothly. If anybody has a fishing pole like mine, you should know exactly what it is I am talking about. I hope somebody understands what it happening and can tell me how to fix the problem. I do appreciate the tips.

Sounds like you have a spin cast reel. I haven’t used one since I was about four, But I remember having the same problem. My dad stepped me up to a spinning rod and reel. You can pickup a decent combo in the $30 range at Walmart. I honestly wouldn’t was my time trying to fix your old one. The gears may be stripped out. It happens a lot with those things.
